Cascata

Cascata is a card game originally created for physical cards during a family Christmas gathering in 2025.

How to Play

Each player starts with 4 cards from a standard 54-card deck (52 + 2 jokers). 

Cards are arranged in a pyramid — you can only draft cards that aren't covered by others. 

On your turn:
1. Draft — Take a free card from the pyramid, draw from the reserve pile, or swap a joker from your hand for any face-up pyramid card

2. Meld — Create sets of same-rank cards (pairs, triples, quads) to score points, extend your own melds, or steal an opponent's incomplete meld by completing it to 4 cards.

Scoring

- Pair (2 cards): sum of card values

- Triple (3 cards): sum × 2 

- Quad (4 cards): sum × 3 

- Cards left in hand count as a penalty 

The game ends when the pyramid is empty. Highest score wins! 

The Twist

Incomplete melds (2-3 cards) can be stolen by opponents who complete them to 4 cards. Only full melds are safe, so every meld is a gamble.
